Having been rumoured for months, All Elite Wrestling has officially announced their television deal with WarnerMedia to air a live pro wrestling television show on TNT. It will be a return for pro wrestling to the station as TNT famously aired World Championship Wrestling’s Monday Nitro from 1995 until 2001.
A sensitivity warning and a disclaimer that I am not an expert, the things I say may be in contrast to what an expert says on the subject, and these are things I could change my mind on in the future. This is a diary to the world on my feelings right now. Also: I’m fine. The world is on fire, same fire that’s been burning forever, but I look forward to every tomorrow. This isn’t about me.
Earlier this week, Kate Spade passed away after committing suicide. I did not know who Kate Spade was, and many people looked at me funny when I said I did not know who she was.
Today, it has come out that Anthony Bourdain also committed suicide. Bourdain is a favourite of mine and means to me the same way the people who looked at me funny when I said I didn’t know who Spade was. This isn’t a competition. It’s more a reflection of the different ways celebrity and icon can mean to different people.Read More
So somebody brought up that the Montreal Canadiens won their division in 16-17 so things shouldn’t be looked at as so bleak. Nobody can take that away from the club. They absolutely did. But anyone bringing it up is ignoring the context that Montreal benefited greatly from the Atlantic division, and were exposed by the Metropolitan division.
I feel like I need to make a note about racism and responsibility that’s too long for a Facebook status update or a bunch of tweets. Nintendo announced the Super Nintendo Classic Edition today, priced at $79.99 USD to launch September 29th in Canada.
Already people are wondering if they could possibly get their hands on it, and critiquing the choice of games (unless you’re just excited about Star Fox 2). Finding out they are including five feet long cords instead of the NES Classic three feet is a good sign, but I’m sure that’ll be nitpicked as well.
In going with 21 titles instead of 30, this led to a few surprising omissions. I’ve decided to go through what might have been missed and why.Read More
“Ideas excite me, and as soon as I get excited, the adrenaline gets going and the next thing I know I’m borrowing energy from the idea themselves.”
– Ray Bradbury
For the first time in six months I’ve had a huge burst of energy. Unfortunately, it happened at midnight. And I have to write something like that for the first time in six months I had energy.Read More
The Nintendo Switch.
Let me be clear: I am a Nintendo fanboy. I am up front about it. If they do something wrong I have a tendency to downplay it or just not talk about it. I will also be reactionary to someone making dumb statements about Nintendo because I feel they are unfairly maligned, all while knowing it’s just a corporation that wants my money and loyalty and nothing else.
We got that covered? Still want to read? Okay cool.Read More
I heard you like lists?
It’s the very last day of 2016, which means I have a moral obligation to dust off the old blog and create a list. It’s a good time to post something since I took a break from writing this year and plan to get back into it. Waiting for a completely arbitrary calendar flip is a poor way to create good habits but you didn’t come here to read that. You came here for lists!Read More
